Greg Pronevitz is an independent library consultant working with the Massachusetts School Library Association. Until last July he was the founding executive director, appointed in 2010 the head up the newly formed Massachusetts Library System (MLS). In that capacity, he served on the Special Commission on School Library Services in Massachusetts. MLS’ mission, as a state-funded non-profit, is to build the capacity, empower, and provide support, training, consulting, online content, physical delivery and other services to more than 1,500 Massachusetts libraries of all types, including K-12. Previously he served as the director of the Northeast Massachusetts Regional Library System for 12 years prior to its merger into MLS. Prior to his move to New England, Greg spent 15 years in Columbus, Ohio. He held positions at Ohionet (an OCLC network), the Ohio State University, and at Chemical Abstracts Service. He began his library career at a cataloger for Slavic materials at the Center for Research Libraries in Chicago after receiving his MLS and a BA in Russian language and literature at SUNY Albany.
